
Film, video and sound editing, audio mixing, film-to-tape transfers and interformat duplication are provided in the Post Production Area. Students are given curricular allotments and are trained on, and given access to, all the tools they need to complete their projects at a professional level. These tools include Steenbeck flatbed editing, Betacam SP cuts-only, a state of the art sound mixing studio, Pro Tools, Final Cut Pro and Avid Media Composer, Xpress, Xpress-DV and Symphony. In addition, students work with many top labs and post houses in the New York City area, acquiring key relationships and information necessary to step into their roles as filmmakers after graduation.
Both the students, who complete thousands of projects per year at over one hundred workstations, and the faculty, who work on their own curricular and research projects, receive technical assistant from seventeen staff members as well as student Technical Assistants.
