There are more and more ways to see a movie; from DVD to internet download sites to handheld screens to streaming in home video as of this Tuesday. This craft production course enables the student to prepare their reel, film or portfolio for delivery, presenting it in a well designed context. Main areas of concentration are the design and technique of video delivery via web and DVD; as well as reformatting video for smaller screens. Topics covered are project planning (target audience definition, the flow chart), compression and encoding video for online and DVD viewing, still and motion menu and page creation and editing, graphical and navigational design, audio and video design, and overall website and DVD authoring issues. Students will finish the course with a website for their reel and a DVD containing higher resolution video. Students work with Final Cut Pro, Dreamweaver, DVD Studio Pro and Photoshop.
