BiographyAn award-winning producer, director, screenwriter, script editor, actor and teacher, Denny Lawrence has experience in a wide variety of capacities in theater, film, and television in Australia, Canada, U.K. as well as U.S.A. He studied at the National Institute of Dramatic Art and the Australian Film Television and Radio School and with Stella Adler. His feature film credits include Afraid to Dance, Coca-Cola Kid, Emoh Ruo, Goodbye Paradise and Warm Nights on a Slow-Moving Train. In addition, he has many credits in television: television movies, miniseries, and series. He has worked with many of Australia’s leading performers, including Eric Bana, Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe, Essie Davis, Nicole Kidman, Guy Pearce, Geoffrey Rush and Naomi Watts. Teaching experience includes the Actor’s Center, London; the Australian Film Television and Radio School; Boston University; the Canadian Film Center; the National Institute of Dramatic Art; Victoria College of the Arts. He won two Writers’ Guild Awards and two AFI Awards, as well as having numerous other awards and nominations.
He is Executive Director of Television and Acting & Directing Studies, Kanbar UGFTV,Tisch School of the Arts.
